MQM’s Rabita Committee sacks Anees Ahmed

Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has sacked Anees Ahmed Advocate as member of its Coordination Committee, media on Sunday reported quoting a statement issued by the party.
According to the statement, Anees Ahmed was removed from the Coordination Committee for violating party’s code of conduct.
The move came as the party is facing troubles inside and outside the country. Its UK-based leader Altaf Hussain is supposed to appear before the Supreme Court of Pakistan on January 7, 2013 in a contempt of court case, and on the other hand the MQM fears delimitation of constituencies in Karachi, its stronghold, and terms it as ‘pre-poll rigging’.
Legal experts say Hussain’s UK citizenship may be revoked if he found guilty of contempt of court.
