The funeral prayers of Khyber Pukhtunkawa Minsiter Bashir Ahmed Bilour were offered at Colonel Sher Khan Stadium in Peshawar on Sunday, a private TV channel reported.
Bilour will be laid to rest at Syed Hassan Pirbiri graveyard.
Nine persons including Bilour, his secretary and a police officer were killed on Saturday in a suicide blast after an ANP public gathering.
A large number of people attended the funeral prayer including ANP chief Asfandyar Wali, KP Chief Minister Amir Haider Hoti, Interior Minister Rehman Malik, President’s spokesman Farhatullah Baber, PML-Q leader Shujaat Hussain and Mushahid Hussain Syed.
A national day of mourning was announced by Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf to honor Bilour’s services for the country.
President Asif Ali Zardari, Afghan President Hamid Karzai, Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf, Mian Nawaz Sharif, Imran Khan, Altaf Hussain and others politicians expressed grief and condolences over the sad demise of Bilour.
Earlier on Sunday, funeral prayer of Bilour’s personal secretary Noor Muhammad was also held in high school Kakshal.
