Security beefed up for a merry Christmas

Punjab Inspector General of Police Habib-ur-Rehman on Friday said that the police would increase and strengthen round-the-clock security in and around all churches for the occasion of Christmas.
Talking to journalists, he said that all CCPOs, CPOs, RPOs, DPOs and SDPOs across the province had been directed to remain on high alert and ensure security in their respective areas. He said that police officers had been instructed to take precautionary measures, especially in crowded areas, to prevent any untoward incidents. He said that police in plain clothes would be deployed in various places if necessary.
The IG ordered intensified patrolling around railway stations, bus terminals, bus stops, markets, cinema halls, hotels, mosques, imambargahs and other important places of all big cities.
He urged the people to cooperate with the police in this regard, saying that in case they find any unclaimed object or see a suspicious person or shady activity they must immediately inform police emergency and Rescue 115 to prevent any untoward incident.
