Punjab govt releases Rs7.78m funds for Rawalpindi

The Punjab government has released Rs7.78 million funds for the up-gradation of basic health units and dispensaries of the city.
According to sources, MPA Shehryar Riaz during his meeting with chief minister Punjab Mian Shahbaz Sharif apprised him about problems faced by municipal dispensaries due to non-provision of funds needed.
The chief minister taking notice issued directives for releasing funds for up-gradation of 10 municipal dispensaries of Rawalpindi.
Sources said that funds would be spent on renovation of basic health units and dispensaries in different areas of the city including Taili Mohallah, Dhoke Ratta, Dhoke Mongtal, Sarfraz Road, Millat Colony, Mohanpura, Sirajia Park and Amarpura.
Release of funds would help upgrade the labour rooms, purchasing equipment and machinery required, appointing paramedical staff which would lower burden on over crowded government hospitals of the city besides providing treatment facilities to masses at their doorsteps.
