PPP will contest elections along with allies: president

President Asif Ali Zardari has emphatically declared that forthcoming elections will be free, fair and transparent and they will contest them along with allies. Addressing the Sindh PPP’s core committee here on Friday, the president said that people of Sindh had always given their mandate to the PPP as they were aware of the background of those misguiding them. He said the PPP considers people as the real power and asked the ministers and elected representatives to maintain their contacts with the electorates. The meeting was attended by PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah, Provincial Ministers Pir Mazharul Haq, Agha Siraj Durrani, Murad Ali Shah, Sharjeel Memon and other members. The meeting considered in detail the political situation in Sindh, relations with the allied parties and how to make the party more effective. The president said the PPP during its tenure worked hard in difficult times to provide jobs, bring down inflation and create economic and political stability. He said the party would go to the people on the basis of its performance. The president said it was the result of reconciliation policy of PPP that the government was completing its mandated five years term. He thanked the political parties for their cooperation in strengthening democracy.
