Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) chief Mian Nawaz Sharif said that his party would not allow postponement of the general elections.
Speaking at a ceremony here on Saturday, he said that he played his role to improve the system by tolerating these five years.
“Pakistan has got an independent Election Commission for the first time. All parties have expressed their confidence in the commission,” he said.
He urged President Asif Ali Zardari to play his constitutional role, warning that if the president did not play his due role, he would make himself controversial.
“My nomination papers were rejected due to the NRO. Thanks to Almighty, we still won in the Punjab.” “People are for the elections to bring about change.”
