Government is all set to remove Dr Sibtul Hasnain, president Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) from his office on account of various allegations against him.
Secretary National Regulations and Services (NRS) Imtiaz Inayat Elahi has issued show cause notice to Dr Sibt ul Hasnain calling for the reply from the latter within seven days and threatening him for his removal from service without holding any inquiry.
Sources said that Dr Asim Hussain, advisor on petroleum to PM who owns a range of medical colleges and hospitals in private sector and is vice president of PMDC is eager to be appointed as president of PMDC.
The show cause notice issued to the incumbent president is being seen as a first step towards paving the way for induction of Dr Asim Hussain as president.
Deputy secretary NRS, Maqsood Ahmad had sent a letter to PMDC on April, 24 that the newly created ministry is facing the shortage of vehicles and only one vehicle has been provided by PMDC for the protocol duties of the minister therefore, more vehicles be provided. Sources said this demand was not met by PMDC.
The show cause notice issued to Dr Sibt ul Hassnain contains 9 allegations.
The charges say that PMDC’s headquarter is located in Islamabad but he always remains in Lahore and this way office work suffers heavily, he has failed to represent government effectively on various forums, address the problems of medical students in Cuba, acquire proposed 100 seats for Afghanistan, to get audit of accounts of PMDC as per procedure and appoint new secretary following pre mature retirement of secretary PMDC.
He was further alleged in the show cause notice that he kept the seat of special advisor to the president vacant deliberately, visited Canada without prior permission of Registrar PMDC and due to his incompetence the PMDC prestige has lowered in the eyes of people and government.
The show cause has been issued under the signatures of deputy secretary on December, 20.
