The election schedule for the annual election of District Bar Association Chakwal announced on Saturday.
As per announcement, the nomination papers will be filed on January 2 next year and the final list of the candidates would be displayed on January 7, while the polling would be held on January 12.
Both the traditional rivals Pasha Group and Zaidi Group are contesting the elections.
Khawaja Khalid Farooq was nominated by Pasha Group as President while Arif Minhas for Secretary Generalship.
Zaidi Group pitched Malik Abdul Jalil for President-ship while Ch. Zubair has been nominated for Secretary General slot.
More than 400 lawyers will exercise their votes in the election.
In the meantime 36 women lawyers filed a joint application and contended that a seat of Joint Secretaryship must be fixed for women lawyer as it was very difficult for women lawyers to contest the main election.
The fate of the application will be decided in a general body meeting.
