A remotely controlled bomb exploded near a vegetable market in South Waziristan tribal region’s Wana area on Friday killing militant commander Maulvi Abbas and four others.
A nine-year-old child was also injured in the blast, whereas nearby buildings were partially damaged.
According to sources Maulvi Abbas appeared to be the target of the attack.
Security forces arrived at the scene and cordoned off the area for search operation.
Rustam Bazaar is a busy vegetable market located near Wana town of South Waziristan.
