Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has approved the construction of an underpass at the new judicial complex.
Earlier the district management wanted to build an overhead bridge but the District Bar Association had rejected the project terming it a security risk and proposed an underpass on the site.
The project will cost Rs 50 million and its construction will start in January. The funds will be provided by the Punjab government.
Bar Association president and general secretary said that walk-through gates would be erected on both sides of the underpass and lawyers and their clients would have to pass through them to enter the complex.
