Two killed in crossfire during operation

A joint operation of Pakistan Rangers and police was conducted in Al-Asif Square, inhabitant of Afghan refugees in Karachi to nab the culprits behind the brutal countrywide killing of polio workers.
Two suspected were killed during raid, police said adding one deceased suspected was foreigner who was killed in encounter.
At least 20 other suspected were arrested.
The security personnel were carrying out door-to-door search which was initiated on the information acquired from those held in this connection Tuesday attacks on anti-polio campaigners in Karachi.
Meanwhile, WHO has clarified that it has called back monitoring teams to ensure safety to the staff working in Pakistan to eradicate polio. On the other hand, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister, Mian Iftikhar Hussain has reiterated that nothing can deter their determination to administer polio drops to children.
Meanwhile, a demonstration of Lady Health Workers was held in Surjani Town, Karachi to protest killing of 9 polio workers in 48 hours in the country.
Gunshots are being heard in Al Asif Square area where police were conducting raid to nab the culprits. Unconfirmed reports said that two suspects has been killed in crossfire while there have also been reports about the presence of foreign suspects in the area.
