Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah on Wednesday claimed that former Ogra chief Tauqir Sadiq is hiding in Islamabad.
Talking to media outside Punjab Assembly, the provincial law minister stated that Tauqir Sadiq, an accused in the multi-billion-rupee scam in the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority(Ogra), was provided shelter at Punjab Governor House and from there he was taken to Islamabad.
Those involved in multi-billion-rupee scam are providing shelter to ex-Ogra chairman, he said adding that Tauqir Sadiq was hiding in one of the two big houses in Islamabad.
Sanaullah said that the Supreme Court had issued order for arrest of former chairman of OGRA Touqeer Sariq but nobody is following the court order keeping in view the concept of rule of law.
To a question, Rana Sanaullah said recommendations of Public Accounts Committee (PAC) will be implemented.
To a question, he said that Punjab government was facing resistance from doctors regarding implementation of Health Care Commission.
The law minister said that accused could be produced before courts after completion of judicial inquiry into PIC drugs case.
“We are not being blackmailed by doctors. It is the jobs of courts to award punishments,” he argued.
He expressed sorrow over attack on polio teams adding security of polio teams all over the Punjab has been further intensified following shooting incidents in Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa that killed at least eight health workers.
