SITE Association of Industry Chairman Dr Arshad A Vohra reiterated much concern over low gas pressure persisting for the last five months in SITE Industrial Area by the SUI Southern Gas Company Limited. He said despite assurances given by the concerned authorities the situation had not normalised besides closure of gas supply on every Sunday for 24 hours. The industries are facing low pressure for the last three days of the current week which results in hampering the production and supplies causing delays to fulfill the commitments with customers and not able to meet the export targets and they are suffering great financial/production losses and are on the verge of closing the business. He further expressed that either SSGCL should run the CNG stations or provide required gas to the industries of the SITE area. He is of the view that the supply of natural gas is responsibility of SSGCL and they are under obligation to supply full pressure of gas to industries. Most of the Industries facing low or no pressure of gas for the last few months on a regular basis and even sometimes are able to run the production only for five days in a week with fluctuation in gas pressure. The chairman stressed the advisor to prime minister on petroleum & natural resources, Sindh chief minister and governor to take necessary action and advise the concerned quarters for the immediate supply of gas with proper pressure.
