Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, nephew of the legendary Sufi singer Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, performed at an event organised by the Pakistan Television Corporation on Tuesday and enthralled the audience for over two hours.
The event was held in connection with the launch of a new drama series, “Ishq Dastan”, which will be aired next year. The drama will include a series of folk love stories from across the country including “Heer Ranjha”, which will be aired in January.
Information and Broadcasting Minister Qamar Zaman Kaira, Religious Affairs Minister Khurshid Shah, National Assembly Deputy Speaker Faisal Karim Kundi, Bait-ul-Maal Managing Director Zamurrad Khan, PTV MD Yousuf Baig Mirza and several government functionaries attended the launch.
The audience enjoyed Rahat’s performance and applauded his rendition of Sufi classics.
