With the National Games fast approaching, the Punjab rugby team camp is in full swing in Lahore and the players from Lahore, Multan, Muzafrgurgh, Sargoda, Bawalnager were shortlisted from the Punjab District championship held along with the Punjab Youth Festival.
The two Lahore based clubs the Lahore rams and DHA Rugby club providing the Most number of players.
This is the first ever inclusion of Rugby in the National games and reflects the growth of grassroots development of Rugby in Pakistan Rugby 7s was recently voted to be included as an event in the Olympics both for men and women.
The Punjab team is being training camp is being run by sectary of Punjab Rugby Association Khuram Haroon who has deputed a coaching team consisting of Haji Anwar , shakeel , Arslan zahid and Sair Raiz coaches .
The Squad currently consist of Areeb, Muhammad Tahir, Arsalan, Babar , Umer Usman, Daud, Muhammad Shoaib, Anwar ul Haq, Sair Riaz, Manan, Basit, Ali Khuram, waseem, Basit, abubaker, m babar, Hassan Shan, Waqar Ali (viki).
