Property mogul Malik Riaz has gifted a car to World Snooker Champion Muhammad Asif and announced a job for him in Bahria Town administration for making the country proud.
Muhammad Asif, who defeated Britain’s Gary Wilson 10-8 to clinch the title in Sofia, Bulgaria, was gifted a new car by the former Bahria Town chairman on Tuesday.
An auspicious ceremony was held at Garden City Golf & Country Club in Bahria Town Islamabad to recognise and praise the efforts of Asif.
Malik Riaz was the chief guest at the ceremony, which was also attended by notable citizens, senior members and staff of Bahria Town.
He handed the key of a new Toyota Corolla to Asif and said he would continue to support people like Asif in the future as well.
“I announce that if Asif succeeds in defending his title… I’ll give him a luxurious house in Bahria Town.”
Asif thanked Malik Riaz and Bahria Town and said he felt extremely honoured and proud. Upon receiving the keys of the car, Asif said, “I’m very glad. The administration of Bahria Town delivered what it promised.”
The snooker champion also called upon the government to honour the promises that the prime minister and president made after his win.
Speaking on the occasion, Bahria Town CEO Ali Riaz Malik said Bahria Town was committed to contributing towards the betterment of the community and would keep on encouraging and appreciating the youth of Pakistan who strived to make the country’s name standout.
