Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has decided in principle to take disciplinary action against CNG stations that are either closed or have declined to sell the gas on prices fixed by the Supreme Court of Pakistan.
According to sources in OGRA, teams of the regulating authority’s Enforcement Department have been dispatched to such CNG stations that have been shut down in violation of directives by the Supreme Court.
It should be mentioned here that in a recent hearing of the CNG prices case, the apex court directed the government to maintain the gas prices at the present level till 20th of January, 2013.
The licenses of all shut CNG stations will be suspended, the sources said.
The Enforcement Department’s teams will garner details of the CNG station and produce the report to the authority by Wednesday evening.
