In order to facilitate voters, the Election Commission has increased the number of polling stations in Islamabad from 379 to 538. The number of polling stations have been increased from 182 to 253 for the constituency NA-48 and from 197-285 for NA-49. A draft list of stations in the constituencies NA-48, Islamabad-I and NA-49, Islamabad-II have been drawn by a committee under the chairmanship of District Election Commissioner Aleem Shahab.
These draft polling schemes have been displayed in offices of all union councils in Islamabad as well as in the District Election Commissioner’s office for inviting objections and suggestions from electors of each constituencies within 15 days of the list’s publication.
The number of polling stations has been increased so that all polling stations were within two kilometres of residential areas.
