Militants killed a government official and three policemen in Quetta while at least three soldiers were slain in separate incidents of violence in Quetta and Lakki Marwat on Monday.
In Quetta, unidentified men gunned down four people, including three policemen and a public relations official, in two separate attacks.
Police and rescue officials said unidentified assailants opened fire on a vehicle of Public Relation Director Khadim Hussain Noori on Jinnah Road. Noori was killed on the spot while a police constable was injured.
In another incident, unidentified men shot three policemen dead in the Liaquat Bagh area of the city. The cops were identified as Rajab Ali, Abdul Rauf and Sangeen Khan.
In Lakki Marwat, at least three soldiers were killed and three others sustained injuries in clashes between security forces and extremists in Lakki Marwat town in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Monday.
Dozens of insurgents armed with guns and rockets stormed a security checkpost in Lakki Marwat, killing three soldiers and injuring three others, including a major-rank official.
The security forces put up a strong resistance, however, no details were available on casualties to militants.
