Leaders of religious and political parties have condemned the statements by Interior Minister Rehman Malik in India that he would order immediate arrest of Hafiz Mohammad Saeed if concrete evidence was provided and to take the family members of Sarbjeet Singh to Pakistan as his guest. In separate statements, the leaders said the interior minister was hurting national honour for his personal interests.
JUI-F Central leader Hafiz Hussain Ahmad, JI Secrtary General Liaquat Baloch, Jamaatud Dawa leader Hafiz Abdul Rehman Makki, Amir of Ansarul Ummah Maulana Fazlur Rehman Khalid and others said while India had hanged Amjad Kasab, Malik was talking of releasing Sarbjeet Singh and turning him into a hero. They said it appeared that after Black Water, Malik wanted to set up the network of RAW in Pakistan. The leaders said the country was in the midst of a flood of terrorist activities because of the policies of the interior minister
The concerned religio-political leaders also criticized various categories of visas and said these were meant to facilitate entry of RAW agents in Pakistan. On the other hand Robina Nawaz, a woman rendered a widow following a bombing carried out by Sarbjeet Singh in Sangla Hill, and Rahila Wakeel of Hafizabad, whose father disappeared after Samjhota express blast, also condemned Malik’s statements.
