A high-level inquiry into the attack on Peshawar airport, has been decided as another victim succumbed to his injuries, pushing the overall death toll to nine.
It should be mentioned here that terrorists assaulted Peshawar Airport late Saturday night, killing five people on the first day. An encounter with the terrorists occurred again yesterday, in which five terrorists were killed and three security personnel were martyred.
The 42 injured were shifted to Khyber Teaching Hospital, one of them died today, mounting the death toll in airport attack, to nine. Other 33 injured were sent home after first-aid treatment. Three injured have been shifted to Intensive Care Unit.
According to Town Police Station, the FIR of the airport attack has been registered against the unknown miscreants; however, the FIR of yesterday’s police encounter could not be lodged as yet.
The officials said the government has decided to conduct DNA test of the terrorists who were killed in the two incidents. The samples have been taken, which will be sent to Lahore.
The officials furthermore said a high-level investigation committee has been formed to probe the attack on Peshawar airport.
The routine life is still at standstill in University Town on the third day today with people terrified and markets and shops closed.
