NJP tantamount to dismissal of justice: Jahangir

Supreme Court Bar Association’s former president, Asma Jahangir said that lawyers are in favor of speedy delivery of justice but they would not allow the dismissal of cases on the pretext of the recently approved National Judicial Policy (NJP).
Jahangir, , while talking to journalists on Monday, noted that judges should use the contempt of court law judiciously and that remarks should not be made which caus turmoil in the country.
While responding to a question regarding Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain, she said that the respecting the court is compulsory and that instead of protesting Altaf Hussain should appear in court.

Yeah , Yeah Ms Jehangir..if appearing in court is compulsory, why has your client Mr Haqqani not appeared till now in Memogate case..? law should be for all, by the way, Mr Altaf is a UK citizen while Mr Haqqani is a Pakistani, so law is more applicable on Mr Haqqani than on Mr Altaf like Mr Mansoor ( the whistle blower in Memo gate )…..

  2. Agree with Ms. Jehangir, but the unnecessary delay tacts results into long litigation. The bar and bech may make possible to conclude the cases in appropriate time frame.

  3. This SC has failed to bring Hussain Haqqani in the court despite issuance of number of notices – nothing happened to him nor will happen anything to Mr.Altaf Hussain.

    SC has developed a habit of ordering anything and everything. So cheap.
