Incidents of crime escalate in provincial metropolis

Adulterated Tino syrup took another life when a man named Muhammad Zeeshan resident of Nolakha died in Mayo Hospital after taking the poisonous medicine.
In another report, a robber named Moshin Akram died in prison due to police torture. According to details, the deceased was under the custody of the investigation branch of police Shadbagh. Later, the police shifted his dead body to a morgue for post-mortem.
The family members of the deceased prisoner protested in front of the police station, and said that Moshin died due to police torture and demanded the high officials to investigate the case.
Operation division Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Ray Tahir took notice of the incident and ordered a thorough investigation of the matter.
Meanwhile, robberies took place in three offices in the area of Garden Town including the Cargo Office, Union Council Office and one factory.
According to reports, the robbers broke the locks and took goods worth millions of rupees and other valuables from the three buildings.
After the incident, police reached the spot and gathered evidence, while also filing First Information Reports (FIRs) against the unidentified robbers.
In another incident, a citizen named Atsham was deprived of his car in the area of Shadman Sunday Bazaar.
Moreover, police arrested a dacoit named Umer along with his brother named Rizwan from the area of Gulshan Ravi. Reports said that both these men had robbed many citizens across the city and had also injured many others on offering resistance. The police recovered motorbikes, weapons, and dozens of mobile phones from their possession.
Meanwhile, the City Division Police arrested 10 men who were flying kites from different areas of the city. Police also arrested a man named Muhammad Yousaf (kite seller) from Rung Mahal area and recovered 50 kites and dozens of kite threads from his possession.
In another raid police arrested nine gamblers from outside the Race Club, Kotlakhpat and recovered thousands of rupees in cash from their possession.
In a separate incidence, an 8-years-old orphan boy was hit by bullet in the area of Baghbanpura. According to reports, a firing exchange took place between two groups which injured an 8 years-old orphan boy named Waqas who sold balloons in the area of Baghbanpura. After the incident, nearby people took him to the Shalimar Hospital, where the hospital management refused to admit him. Later the people took him to the Services Hospital but the boy died on the way to the hospital. The dead body was later shifted to the morgue for the post-mortem.
