Governor issues directives for website of higher learning

Sind Governor Dr Ishrat-ul-Ebad Khan has issued the directives to initiate a website for the seats of higher learning.
This was informed at a meeting of the vice-chancellors of the public sector universities and the heads of degree awarding institutes held at the Governor’s House here.
The governor, who is also the chancellor of the public sector universities in the province, presided over the meeting.
The website would contain information regarding all the universities and degree awarding institutes for providing guidance to the students regarding the higher education sector.
It would also provide information regarding the ranking of the seats of higher learning and well as other required information. Speaking on the occasion, the Governor called for undertaking concerted efforts for a solid headway in the realms of higher education and for this the public sector and private universities in the province should benefit from one another’s experiences.
He also asked the vice-chancellors and others to play their role for fostering a positive image of the country. Dr Ishrat said that there has been an impressive progress in the education sector. He said that apart from facilities in research and teaching, the enrolment in the universities has also doubled.
The governor said that Karachi University has earned a place among the 500 top universities in the world.
