A renowned educationist and principal of the Tameer-e-Nau College in Balochistan, Fazale Haq Mir, on Sunday escaped an attempt on his life while a passer-by got severely injured.
According to details, Mir, along with his college staff, was on his way to Quetta via the eastern bypass when armed personnel opened fire on his car. Resultantly, a tyre of Mir’s car burst bringing the vehicle to a halt.
As soon as the car stopped, one of the attackers tried to open the door forcibly. However, the driver sped up the vehicle, which had a punctured tyre, and drove it back to Tameer-e-Nau sports complex. A vendor, Mohammad Nabi, standing nearby received a bullet during the armed attack.
Balochistan Governor Zulfiqar Magsi and Chief Minister Aslam Raisani have condemned the attack and have directed the police to track down the attackers a soon as possible.
Two years ago, a principal of Tameer-e-Nau Educational Complex, Fazal Bari had also been gunned down in the same area.
