President of Lahore chapter of PML-N, Muhammad Pervez Malik has termed the gas load shedding in Punjab as a cleverly hatched conspiracy to destroy Punjab’s industrial sector.
In a press statement issued here on Monday, Pervez Malik questioned, “If gas is not available for the power generation units, textile, fertilizer, leather, cement, CNG stations and other industries than where it is going?”
He said that the country has vast natural gas reserves but this treasure is not being utilized substantially due to weak policies of the government, inability of the concerned departments and unchecked gas theft.
He said that during the tenure of present regime, million industrial workers have lost their jobs, their families are starving but PPP government, who was chanting the slogan of food, cloth & residence in the elections, is busy to pursue its own interest leading the country towards obliteration.
The PML-N leader said that textile sector was the largest export-oriented sector of the country with more than 60% share in the total exports. Despite its importance, gas is not being supplied to this largest sector as well.
He said that Punjab trade and industry condition was already flimsy due to behavior of the PPP regime and now fully massive gas load shedding for the Punjab industry would be the last nail in the coffin and last straw on camels back.
