The Ministry of National Harmony has announced cash assistance and gifts worth Rs 3 million for the Christian community of the federal capital on the occasion of Christmas, so they can celebrate the festival in a befitting manner. National Harmony Minister Akram Masih Gill said the government was committed to solving problems being faced by non-Muslims. He said the government will also give Rs 20 million to parliamentarians for the distribution of gifts among deserving people in their respective areas on Christmas day. He said the federal cabinet had increased 11 seats for minorities in the national and provincial assemblies which was a big achievement of the present government. He said the government had also allocated a 5 percent job quota for non-Muslims in the country.
