Recent rains ruined roads

The recent Westerly rain showers have caused cracks in several roads that cause trouble to motorists and pedestrians.
Large cracks were visible on several roads that could pose a serious threat to vehicles and drivers.
The road from NDC to 7-Up Chowk has deteriorated noticeably. “The road near Sector I-10/3 industrial area is in a bad shape and several vehicles have had accidents,” said Talha Nadeem, a motorist. He said the road had turned into a pond and drivers could not spot big potholes and damaged their vehicles.
A taxi driver said there were big holes in the middle of the road in front of the H-9 College and the authorities were not interested in repairing it.
Traffic from the Lahore-Islamabad Motorway and GT Road from Taxila had been directed to the Kashmir Highway and 10th Avenue, causing more traffic jams.
A CDA official said that maintenance of roads was carried out on a regular basis.
