Daniel Jones, aged 23 months, died at a house in Penn, Wolverhampton in May. Daniel’s death was initially treated as unexplained but following an investigation, forensic tests showed he died from a heroin overdose.
A 29-year-old man and 33-year-old woman are due to appear at Wolverhampton Magistrates’ Court this morning charged with manslaughter and causing or allowing the death of a child. Both were detained by police yesterday and charged today after the death of Daniel, who was pronounced dead by paramedics who responded to a call to a house in Penn at 6.15am on May 29.
