Sharjeel wants CJ to open graft cases against Sharifs

Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon on Thursday appealed to Chief Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry to annul a stay order issued by the Supreme Court in corruption cases involving the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leaders.
Sharjeel, who is also the central deputy secretary information of Pakistan People’s Party, said the apex court and the Election Commission (EC) should declare all politicians who received money unconstitutionally in the 1990 elections as ineligible for the next elections.
The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader accused the Sharif brothers of receiving kickbacks in the purchase of yellow cabs, the construction of Motorway, purchase of laptops and projects like “Sasti Roti”.
He said if the Sharifs were actually “sharif”, they would have never stooped to that level, but they had been exposed as the most corrupt politicians since 1985. “Nawaz Sharif has always considered people as his slaves and keeps lying to them,” he alleged. They should be brought to task and the money they have looted should be deposited to the national treasury, he added.
Sharjeel said that Nawaz was a product of dictatorship and gave a bad name to democracy. He said all those who had sabotaged the people’s mandate and came into power through back door politics gave the country a bad name. The Sharif brothers were no more trustworthy and reliable and would face a bitter defeat in Punjab in the next elections, he added.
