An international conference on calligraphy titled Sarir-e-Khama: the Art of the Pen organised by the College of Art and Design of the University of the Punjab entered its second phase on Thursday. At least 50 students, teachers and calligraphers of this genre attended a workshop themed Qalam styles where Pakistani calligrapher Irfan Qureshi presented his paper. Later, the Iraqi calligrapher Salahuddin Shezad demonstrated his skills in Arabic styles of writing. A number of professional calligraphers from Pakistan also attended this workshop for their international experience regarding this genre. Many research scholars and students of the college and from other institutions were also present at the workshop, which will continue till December 15.
