Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Nawaz Sharif has directed party leaders to speed up contacts with nationalist parties in Sindh for seat adjustment and electoral alliance to give a befitting contest to the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) in its stronghold. The meeting of Manifesto Committee of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) was held on Monday under the chairmanship of Nawaz to give final touches to the crucial document ahead of the general election. The chairman of the committee, Sartaz Aziz, presented a report to the PML-N president in the meeting. Sources said that during earlier meetings of the committee, Nawaz had suggested some amendments to address the concerns of the masses, as the country was facing economic downslide, unemployment, price hike and energy crisis. The sources said Nawaz directed the specially constituted committee to speed up contacts with nationalist parties in Sindh for seat adjustment and electoral alliance. He said the by-polls were a referendum of the PML-N government’s success in Punjab, and the failure of those ruling at the Centre. He hoped that his party would sweep the general elections. Nawaz said the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and its allies had given nothing to the country except crises, adding that the rulers should prepare themselves for returning the looted money instead of dreaming about another term. If voted to power, the PML-N would protect the interests of the country and work for raising the living standard of the people, he said, adding that the party manifesto was in the last phase of completion. “Pakistan needs a revolutionary change,” he said. Nawaz added that the PML-N had worked day and night to work in accordance with the constitution.
