Fake degree case: Court rejects Aqil Shah’s stay order petition

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sports Minister Syed Aqil Shah filed a petition in a local court, requesting to stay the proceeding of a fake degree case against him.
The court rejected Aqil Shah’s plea and ordered to record evidences on January 8.
The Election Commission of Pakistan had declared the Bachelor’s degree of Syed Aqil Shah as fake, sending the case to the district and sessions judge for his trial.
Later the Peshawar district and sessions court indicted Syed Aqil Shah in the case.
Aqil Shah, who is a member of the Awami National Party, obtained his graduation degree from Lahore but the institution he graduated from has not been yet recognised by the Higher Education Commission (HEC).
