Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Nawaz Sharif said on Sunday that his party would bag two-thirds majority in the upcoming elections. Speaking at a reception hosted for his party’s victorious candidates in the recently held by-elections, Nawaz said the victory of PML-N candidates was a proof of people’s confidence in the party. He said the by-polls were a referendum of the PML-N government’s success in Punjab, and the failure of those ruling the centre. He hoped that his party would sweep the general elections. He said the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and its allies had given nothing to the country except crises. He said the rulers should prepare themselves for returning the looted money instead of dreaming about another term. If voted to power, the PML-N would protect the interests of the country and work for raising the living standard of the people, he said, adding that the party manifesto was in the last phase of completion and would be made public on the party’s founding day –December 30. On the occasion, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif said the victory in the by-polls had demonstrated the masses’ confidence in the PML-N’s policy of merit.
