National Accountability Bureau Balochistan Director General Syed Burhanuddin said on Sunday that corruption has risen in Balochistan and disclosed that NAB has received a number of complaints of corruption.
While talking to journalists, he said a new policy has been made to counter the corruption in Balochistan.
“Evidence is being collected against six ministers and no will be spared if found guilty for committing corruption. Everybody is equal in the eyes of law,” he said.
He said that contrary to past practices, NAB would initiate inquiries against big fish instead of clerks and low paid employees and every single penny of the national exchequer will be recovered from the corrupt officials.
Meanwhile, Balochistan Chief Secretary Babar Yaqub Fatah Mohammad said that government officials were promoting corruption by ignoring the corrupt.
“Only politicians are being held responsible for corruption, but government officials are equally responsible in this regard,” the chief secretary added.
“Government officials should not accept illegal orders as they now have constitutional protection given to them by the Supreme Court. Instead of being co-accused in corruption and illegal practices, the government officials should refuse illegal orders,” he said. The International Anti-Corruption Day was observed across the country, and several rallies were held against corrupt practices.
