Former Chairman of Pakistan Steels Mills and Pakistan Ordinance Factories Wah, Lieutenant General (retd) Abdul Qayyum has said that capturing of US spy aircraft by Iran is the biggest example of American intelligence failure.
Qayyum said that US must not disturb the regional peace by taking provocative actions against Iran. “Iran is a major country of the world and its sovereignty must be respected,” he told IRNA in an interview.
The Islamic Revolution Guards Corpse has captured a US drone in the Persian Gulf zone on December 4.
The drone which was a ScanEagle had been spotted few days ago while doing spying operations to collect information in the general zone of the Persian Gulf.
The ScanEagle drone can fly pre-programmed or operator-run missions guided by navigation satellites and its onboard flight control system.
Analyst Abdul Qayyum expressing his views said that West should settle all issues with Iran peacefully. He pointed out that the Zionist regime has refused to allow inspection of its nuclear installations but Iran is not permitted to develop peaceful nuclear program. “The selective application of laws could disturb the world peace,” former general viewed.
“US must not violate Iranian airspace,” he said knowing the repercussion of such acts. Expressing his views the Pakistani defence analyst said that that capturing of US drone shows Iran’s defense capability.
The US drones are developed with state of the art technology and when Iran captures these drones it proves that Iran has the capacity to compete in electronic war. “It is a great achievement of Iran,” he said.
Abdul Qayyum was of the view that US must not underestimate Iran. “Iran has no offensive designs but their right to safeguard independence cannot be denied,” he added.
He said that Arab countries must come out of an American influence and follow independent foreign policies. He said that Arab states should keep their relations with West gracefully rather becoming their colonies.
