Imran Farooq case – UK probe to help clear MQM: FO

The Foreign Office said British police Scotland Yard raided Business Office located in London in connection with the assassination of Imran Farooq, a Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader.
Issuing a statement regarding UK police raid at Business Office, the Foreign Office said it would be wrong to prematurely infer anything from the police raid.
The FO statement voiced hoped that the British probe will help dispel all misgivings about the Muttahida, adding the MQM is not only an allied party of the government but also it represents all secular forces of the country.
Dr Farooq was an outstanding MQM leader. He was murdered outside his home in Edgware, London as he was on way back from work on 16th September 2010.
He disappeared from Pakistan in 1992 and was living in London since 1999, when he claimed asylum in the UK. Farooq’s party MQM said that it will offer the police any help to find the killers.
