Pakistan-Iran resolve to enhance cultural ties

Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Samsam Ali Bukhari has urged the need for increasing cultural exchanges between Pakistan and Iran.
Addressing a function at Radio Pakistan Islamabad, he suggested that Persian should be included as a subject in the Pakistani universities and Urdu in the syllabus of the Iranian universities.
He said that the present government, particularly President Asif Ali Zardari, is making serious efforts for promotion of relations between Pakistan and Iran.
Speaking on the occasion, Special Assistant to the Iranian Foreign Minister and spokesperson of Iranian Foreign Ministry, Ramin Mehman Parast said there is need to further consolidate relations between Pakistan and Iran. He appreciated efforts of Radio Pakistan for strengthening cultural relations between the two countries.
In his key-note address, Director General Radio Pakistan Murtaza Solangi said that Pakistan and Iran have deep cultural relations with each other and both countries are part and parcel of each other. He thanked the Iranian delegation for visiting Radio Pakistan.
Earlier, a Mehfil-e Qawwali was arranged in honor of Mehman Parast and other members of his delegation currently visiting Pakistan.
Prominent Qawwals, Imran Aziz Mian and Meher Ali, Sher Ali presented Urdu and Persian Qawwalis, which were greatly appreciated by the members of the Iranian delegation.
