Supreme Court (SC) dissolved a one-man commission formed to probe the Arsalan Iftikhar case with the two parties terming the development as their own victory.
Hearing a contempt petition filed against the Shoaib Suddle Commission, the two-judge apex court bench dissolved the commission and declared the report as a public property.
Talking to media after the ruling, Zahid Bukhari, the counsel of real estate tycoon Malik Riaz said the commission is frightening the people.
Meantime, Dr. Arsalan Iftikhar, dismissing all allegations, asserted that a case should be lodged against the tax-evaders.
Justice Khilji Arif Hussain said the court is not prejudiced towards any party; accordingly, the people repose their confidence in it, adding the court took suo motu notice, as there was an evolving impression that justice is being slurred.
Advocate Sardar Ishaq, the counsel of Dr. Arsalan said the abolishment of the commission will give rise to some new controversy.
