70% Sindh rural, says Motiwala

Sindh Board of Investment Chairman Muhammad Zubair Motiwala said that Sindh is endowed with vast reservoirs of natural resources and the potential for social uplifting projects in the province was beyond anything witness in Pakistan in six decades. Motiwala said this in a meeting with a delegation of Asian Development Bank (ADB) headed by (ADB) Principal Public Management Specialist Yesim Elhan. Motiwala underscored the huge reservoirs of Oil, Gas, Coal and 5 million hectors of cultivable fertile land. Yesmin apprised Motiwala of Sindh Growth and Rural Revitalization Programme (SGARRP) and said that SGARRP aims to promote broad base growth and rural development in Sindh. She said that SGARRP wished to assist Sindh Goverment to promote broad based growth in Sindh particularly targeting rural economies. She said that SGARRP’s objective was to lure the private sector investments in the rural areas of Sindh. Muhammad Zubair Motiwala speaking on the occasion said that SBI had been a focal body highlighting potential areas for local as well as foreign investment.
