Headmasters and headmistresses of Rawalpindi district schools have banned casual leave for all male and female teachers.
After the imposition of the ban, a wave of anxiety and unrest has spread among teachers. SES Teachers Association District President Chaudhry Yasin and other office bearers said that they had been told about the ban on the casual leave. They said that it was a cruel step and the ban should be removed immediately, otherwise they would stage protest demonstrations.
When contacted, the executive district officer said that he had not directed the imposition of the ban and the headmasters and headmistresses had done that on their own. He said that teachers could take leaves by informing concerned authorities in advance.
