The Sindh Assembly on Thursday adopted a resolution condemning construction of Kalabagh Dam and political leaders’ statements in its favor.
“This house condemns the construction of controversial Kalabagh Dam and recommends the federal government to abandon this project once for all. This is a dead horse which could not become alive,” the resolution said.
It said: “We vehemently condemn Lahore High Court’s decision to allow construction of Kalabagh Dam and supporting statement by Shahbaz Sharif. This project is against masses of Sindh and raising this issue at any forum by any quarter is nothing but creating disturbance. Therefore its construction is rejected.”
The resolution was tabled by PPP’s Imran Zafar Laghari when the house met with Speaker Nisar Khuhro in chair. He said Sindh had been victimized and they could sacrifice their lives against construction of Kalabagh dam.
Later, a two-hour debate on the issue was allowed by the Speaker.
MPA Sikandar Mendro said they condemned those who support Kalabagh dam.
Nusrat Sehr said they reject Kalabagh dam, adding past three assemblies had already adopted resolution against it.
Its time for the LHC midget judges to come out of their usual "sleep-mode" and see the reality on the ground. Wonder why our courts do not understand that their job is only to "inter-prate" the Law and not to issue administrative orders.
But considering the present trend of the courts proceedings – the day is not far when some judge from any High court and maybe the C*heapp J*ustice himself orders the government that they want a single-man (maybe Mr Suddle) be landed on the moon and federal government should make all arrangements in one week for his landing on the moon. On top of this our government will also start following the court ruling.!!!

Well written article exposing the inherent problems in the construction of KBD and suggesting to Judiciary to exercise caution and avoid indulging itself in the controversial issue like KBD. Being carried away by judicial over activism, guided by emotionalism rather than rationality, its decisions will further polarize the already fragmented society like ours.
KBD is explosive matter which needs very rational approach to resolve it and one of the best approach will be Advocacy Coalition Framework. The best thing of this approach is that it tries to accommodate everyone by building consensus. This approach has been so successful in resolving so many controversial issues in different countries.
