Supreme Court ordered on Thursday to freeze CNG prices till Dec 17, allowing consumers CNG at the existing prices.
The apex court Thursday resumed the gas pricing case and directed Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) to complete CNG stations’ audit in a “legal and transparent manner”.
A two-member bench of the apex court, comprising Justice Jawad S.Khawaja and Justice Khilji Arif Hussain was hearing the case.
During the hearing, Federal Board of Revenue presented details of taxes collected over the past three years while OGRA presented list of licences issued for CNG stations.
FBR counsel said the CNG sector submitted the taxes of Rs4.9 billion from 2009 to 2011.
In its report, OGRA stated that 6154 temporary permits and 3395 permanent licences were issued from 2002 to 2011.
Mutual understanding of two parties and conspiracy against the third.

IT IS DR ASIM WHO HAS ENGINEERED THIS STRIKE OF CNG STATIONS TO REDUCE AVAILABILITY OF CNG SO THAT LNG COULD BE IMPORTED TO REPLACE CNG.THIS MINISTER HAS RUINED PETROLEUM,GAS,CNG TO EXTORT TRILLIONS FROM THE POOR CONSUMER.HE MUST BE PUNISHED BEYOND RECOGNITION.WHY SC IS SILENT ON DUAL NATIONALITY HOLDER BECOMING ADVISERS TO RIDICULE THEIR ORDERS FROM DAY ONE BY SADER MOHTRAM,HIS COALITION MAFIA PARTNERS AND GOVERNMENT.SC SHOULD NOW ACT TO SAVE COUNTRY OR WE ARE DOOMED AND DISQULIFY HIM.
Certainly you absolutely right. Dr. Asim is the play back actor. he has imported LNG and is planning to replace LNG with CNG.
how very true… The main culprit in this CNG crisis is Dr. Asim Hussain. He wants to finish off the CNG business in Pakistan and replace it with much costlier LNG which he plans to import and make trillions of rupees…for himself and his croonies..
May Allah help us all..

The SC should direct the Gov to cancel the licenses of all those CNG stations which do not open and start their operations with immediate effect. Well done SC for not scumbing to CNG/OGRA/GOV cartel
Can somebody tell me how many CNG licences were issued by the present Govt despite the ban.
asim is not the cause of crisis. no one has courage to blame the right ones.
