The Punjab government on Wednesday decided to impound the public transport vehicles running without fitness certificates. Transport Secretary Muhammad Yousaf said that on directives of Special Assistant to Punjab Chief Minister, Zaeem Hussain Qadri, he had directed all RTAs to ensure fitness of public transport vehicles. He added that monitoring would be held for checking the fitness on regular basis.
He said that a special campaign had been started against unfit transport vehicles and control room had also been set up in Punjab Provincial Transport Authority Lahore office which would take action on daily basis.
