Another six succumb to city violence

Unabated target killings and violence continued to claim innocent lives in the city as six more people including two robbers were killed and several others injured in fresh spate of target killing in the city on Wednesday. The police arrested 26 accused including two members of religious outfit from different localities of the city and recovered arms from their possession.
According to details, two robbers were killed in separate police encounters when they came across the law enforcement personnel in Al-Hilal Society of New Town and in Maymar Bridge at Super Highway of Karachi. A man was stabbed to death in rival groups clash in Gulshan-e-Maymar locality of city.
In Qayyumabad area, armed robbers gunned down a man upon resistance during robbery attempt and fled with the looted valuables. The body was shifted to hospital where identity of the deceased was ascertained as Arshad.
The police recovered dead body of a woman later identified as Zahra from Pipri area.
Bullet riddled and tortured dead body of another unknown person enclosed in gunny bag was recovered from Site locality. Police said that the deceased was shot dead after kidnapping him. In site Metrowell locality five people were injured when unknown persons attacked a house with crackers. The injured were rushed to hospital for treatment.
Firing incidents continued in the city during which seven persons were reported injured. The injured were rushed to hospital where seven persons were reported injured. The injured were shifted to different hospitals of concerned areas where according to hospital sources condition of several injured people was serious.
Two accused wanted in various cases of robberies, street crimes, pickets looting and other crimes were arrested during Ferozabad Police action in Mehmoodabad area. The police recovered two TT pistols from the possession of detainees identified as Tahir alias Guddu and Albert alias Babi.
The police during snap checking signaled to stop a suspected vehicle with five persons on board, in Azizabad locality of the city but the accused the instead stopping started firing at police and fled the scene. The police chased the vehicle and arrested two members of defunct religious organization Lashkar-e-Jhangvi, identified as Maulana Chiragh Din and Allah Wasaya while their companions managed to escape from the scene. The police also recovered a 7MM and 222 rifles from the vehicle.
Special Investigation Police, East, arrested two alleged target killers during a raid in Muslimabad and recovered weapons from their possession.
According to police, the accused were involved in the killing of ten people including two police officials and five political workers.
The police during separate raids and search operations in five districts of the city arrested 21 criminals and recovered 17 pistols, two rifles and seven snatched mobile phone from their possession.
Meanwhile, the citizens have expressed grave concerns over the performance of law enforcement agencies who have failed to give protection to public lives and property and to restore peace in the city.

  1. There will definitely be an upsurge in the violence. This is because Mr Altaf Hussain is extremely unhappy with the verdict of the Supreme Court because he fears he will be downsized to his actual size and the world would see that his claims that he gets majority of seats in Karachi. Bogus lists prepared in Nine Zero will be shredded and a correct delimtation will be carried out.

    Unfortunately, Altaf's thugs will be unleashed to show the street power of the MQM but I also hope that the SC will stand resolute to thwart Altaf's plans.
