Turkish Coast Guard delegation headed by Rear Admiral (UH) Hasan and comprising of 5 officers arrived in Pakistan on Tuesday for a visit of Pakistan Maritime Security Agency (PMSA) from 4th to 7th December. During their stay in Pakistan, the delegation visited the Headquarters of Maritime Security Agency to discuss matters of mutual interests and enhancement of bilateral relations between the two law enforcement agencies. The delegation was briefed about the role, functions and importance of PMSA. Both the LEAs discussed issues related with joint training, maritime security in the Indian Ocean and concept of collaborative security against piracy. Additionally, topics of anti drug trafficking and human smuggling were also discussed during the interactive sessions. It was decided that joint workshops would be conducted on topics of maritime security which were also agreed upon during the meeting. It may be recalled that the recent years have witnessed enhanced cooperation between PMSA and Turkish Coast Guard. In this connection, a high level delegation of PMSA headed by Commodore Azir Mumtaz (SBt) visited the Turkish Coast Guard head office in June this year.
