Taliban collect funds from Karachi, says Musharraf

Former President General (r) Pervez Musharraf has said that the Taliban exist in Karachi, adding that they also collect large amounts of funds from the metropolis. Talking during a programme on a private television channel on Monday, he said that presently sectarian violence had sharply risen in Karachi. On the issue of Kala Bagh Dam, he said that Kala Bagh Dam was in favour of Sindh more than any other province, adding that the dam should be constructed immediately to store water during the monsoon season as Tarbela Dam was fast losing its storage capacity. The former president also claimed that all the cases registered against him were political in nature. Musharraf further said that former Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) chief General Ahmed Shuja Pasha suggested him against coming to Pakistan, adding that he would be in the country at the time of the general elections.
