Minister emphasizes public-private partnership

Federal Minister for Science and Technology, Mir Changez Jamali has said that in view of defense deployments outsourced to private contractors by developed nations, public institutes for public-private partnership need be opened.
He said this while addressing an event organized by the Composites Engineering Research Group of Department of Mechanical Engineering (DME), NUST College of EME, sponsored through a research grant from Department of International Development (DFID), UK under the British Council DELPHE project.
Talking to media men afterwards, the Federal Minister appreciated efforts of the whole organizing team of Pakistan Composite Show, expressing his felicitations over the fact that the exhibition has attracted more than 80% of the medium- and high-tech industry in this sector.
The Federal Minister mentioned that the government’s role is that of a facilitator for the industry.
Earlier the commandant of EME College, Maj. General Obaid bin Zakaria, highlighting the objectives of this exhibition, said that one of the core objectives of this gathering was to bring due recognition for the ‘Composites Community’ as an industrial sector.
This will ensure the development of National Advance Composite Research & Product Development Center, which is a collaborative center between academia and industry.
