Federal govt has shaken the foundations of Pakistan: CM

Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Tuesday said that the incompetent federal government was responsible for pushing the country into the quagmire of problems and added that, as a result of its defective policies, corruption had shaken the foundations of the nation.
Giving an interview to a foreign journalist, he said that Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) was fully prepared for the next general elections and would achieve a resounding victory.
Shahbaz said that load shedding had dealt irreparable damage to the economy of the country. He said that the sole responsibility for this crisis lay with the federal government which had not produced a single megawatt during its four-year rule.
He said that the ignorance and indifference of the rulers was evident from the fact that machinery imported for energy projects at Nandi Pur and Chicko Ki Malliyan was lying unreleased at the Karachi port and going to waste.
He added that if these projects had been completed on time, the problem of load shedding would have improved. He further said that corruption worth billions of rupees was committed in the name of rental power plants. He said that the stories of the current leadership’s corruption were notorious, adding that it was imperative to hold elections as soon as possible. Speaking on Indo-Pak relations, he said that the chief ministers from both countries would have to sit together and discuss their differences in a peaceful manner.
