By-polls victory will not bring ‘tsunami’: Imran Khan

Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf (PTI) Chief Imran Khan on Wednesday said that the ‘tsunami’, term used by PTI for change, could not be brought after winning by-election adding that Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto himself brought the change after clinching general elections.
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) on Tuesday emerged as the main beneficiary of by-elections in nine constituencies across the country as they clinched victory in seven of them. PPP and PML-Q won one seat.
Talking to media at Lahore airport, the PTI chief said that Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry was the only ray of hope for the deprived people of Pakistan as he had given historic verdicts.
“Hopefully the independent election commission will conduct free and fair polls,” he added.
He further said that laptop distribution would not earn fame for the PML-N leadership adding that the next general elections would prove who is more popular among the people.
Responding to a question on Kalabagh Dam, Imran said that the dam should be constructed after removing grievances of all stakeholders.
